When working in the web industry and while our business primarily focuses on WordPress connectors, it is crucial to stay updated on the latest technologies and tools to remain competitive. The industry is constantly evolving, and keeping pace with the changes can enhance productivity, improve work efficiency, and help meet clients’ expectations. Therefore, professionals should always be on the lookout for innovative tools and techniques that can make their work easier and more effective. While this topic may not be directly related to plugin development, we wanted to take some time to discuss the rise of AI and AI website builders and what they can do for businesses of all sizes. We believe it’s important to stay on top of industry developments and provide our readers with valuable insights and resources.

The Exponential Growth of AI and Generative AI

Over the past few years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly evolved and has been integrated into various aspects of our lives, including website design and development. We had talked to you about Notion’s AI launch a few months ago in an article.

Among the many types of AI, Generative AI has been growing in popularity in recent years: it has been growing more than any other type of AI. Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that is capable of creating original and unique content, such as text, music, code, art, and even video. This technology uses machine learning algorithms to analyze and learn from existing data sets, and then generate new content that is similar in style and quality.

AI Website builder is a type of generative AI that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to create and design websites. This technology allows users to easily create professional-looking websites without the need for extensive technical knowledge or coding experience.

So when I heard about Durable AI, an AI website builder that can build a website in 30 seconds, I was skeptical, but at the same time, of course, very curious to see what it could produce, to say the least. So, I decided to give it a try.

A Tool That Could Live Up to the Hype

AI Website Builder isn’t just hype – it actually works. And this one can go far. With just a brief description of what I wanted, the tool actually generates not a website but a page like Mixo, an other AI Website Builder, does. But better.

Behind it, there is a page creation engine and the ability to configure many things (Analytics, SEO, custom domain name). The tool reminded me of Dorik, a great No Code Website Builder that I like very much.

Indeed, with just one click, after a quick brief and a description of what I wanted, Durable generated for me (with real content):

  • A Header with a background photo, a headline, a CTA
  • A Top Header with links to social networks
  • Blocks presenting services (photo, title, text, CTA/link)
  • A “Testimonials” block
  • A “Clients” block with logos
  • A Top Footer with a contact form
  • A Footer with basic information

The Features of Durable

Durable is a complete website builder that offers a range of features to help create a professional-looking website. From headers to footers, testimonials to client logos, Durable generates everything you need to make a great impression online. Plus, it offers SEO optimization, analytics, and a custom domain name – all in one place. Durable is intuitive, easy to use, and it gets the job done in record time. Plus, the fact that it offers additional services like CRM, Invoicing or Marketing content like Ads writing makes it a one-stop-shop for building a business online. In short, an intelligent positioning and a very good foundation to start with.

What Durable can teach us about AI Website Builder and AI in general

In fact, the rise of AI website design is already happening.

In the future, we can expect AI website builders to become even more advanced, offering more customization options and even more advanced features.

However, as with any new technology, there are bound to be risks and potential issues that must be addressed. It is up to all of us to remain vigilant and proactive in the face of these unknowns to ensure that AI is used responsibly and ethically in the field of website design and beyond.

Remaining Vigilant in the Face of Unknowns

Artificial Intelligence is and will be integrated into all digital domains. For now, I remain optimistic about its implementation and use, even though it is going very, very (too?) fast, there will obviously be abuses and professions that will pivot (if not disappear).

That’s why, we must not forget that content is still king! Whether we are targeting an audience with an offer or trying to make it more attractive, this is something that AI cannot (yet) do on its own. But we must remain vigilant, as the past few months have surprised us with the wave of AI that has forced us to seriously consider our value proposition. The apparent ease of AI should not make us forget our fundamentals. However, these fundamentals may not be the same for everybody. It is up to us to educate our peers and the future generation that will be fully immersed in it, communicate among ourselves, maintain our critical thinking, take an interest in AI, and make the most of it.

Final Thoughts

As we look towards the future of AI and AI website building, one thing is clear: AI website builders like Durable or Mixo are set to revolutionize the industry. The potential for these tools to streamline the website design process and make it more accessible to individuals and small businesses is immense.

However, as with any new technology, there are bound to be risks and potential issues that must be addressed. As users of these AI-powered website builders, it is our responsibility to stay informed on the latest advancements in AI and website design, and to consider the potential risks and take proactive steps to address them.
